Great Society Perspective 1

Many Americans do not know what it feels like to be in a true money crisis. One of the several reasons of why i supported Lyndon B. Johnson, was because he was one of the first presidents who struggled and experienced poverty. Not only did Johnson help the poor class, but he also taught students of Mexican descent. When i learned about this it made me love him more because i came to America for a better opportunity from Mexico. Johnson also served during WW11 in the navy as a lieutenant commander, winning a silver star in the South Pacific. Johnson was a hard worker and kept making his way up after becoming senate in 1953. Although many say Johnson was at the right spot at the right time, i believe it was a tragic but much needed change. After Kennedy's death it was a very sad time, the border closed for a couple hours. Several people were so disappointed by Kennedy's death, but i felt Johnson did a great job to reconstruct us as a country. As an old man i benefited from the Medicare Amendment. Johnson's Great Society plan helped every class and affected the next generations to come!
